The factory 6.7L Powerstroke fuel filter housing is plastic. Over time, heat cycles, vibration, and service stress can cause cracking — often resulting in diesel fuel leaks or spray in the engine bay.
The Sinister Diesel Fuel Filter Conversion Kit permanently eliminates that weak point with a CNC-machined billet aluminum housing built to handle pressure, heat, and long-term use.
Filtration quality is just as critical as housing strength. We partnered with Baldwin to select the BF7967 4-micron nominal filter because it aligns with OEM filtration standards while maintaining proper flow characteristics for the high-pressure common-rail fuel system.
Many competing kits use 9+ micron filters — which allow significantly more particulate matter to pass through compared to a 4-micron filter. On modern injection systems where tolerances are measured in microns, filtration precision matters.
This kit does not compromise protection for convenience.
Unlike competitors who avoided redesigning their housing for the 2017+ three-line fuel system and instead added multiple additional connection points (each one a potential leak source), our housing was engineered from the beginning to support:
- 2-port configuration for 2011–2016
- 3-port configuration for 2017–2026
No stacked fittings. No unnecessary failure points.
To secure the housing, Sinister Diesel uses a Buna O-ring locking system that provides a clean, secure seal into the factory cup. This eliminates the oversized “can koozie” style retention sleeves seen in other designs.
